About Canyon Voices
Canyon Voices is a literary magazine dedicated to displaying the works of emerging writers and artists. Founded in the Spring of 2010 at Arizona State University’s West campus by Professor Julie Amparano and six students, this journal strives to bring the creativity of its writers and artists to light within the community and beyond. Canyon Voices has published writers in India, Australia, Paris and beyond. The work of maintaining and producing Canyon Voices is entirely student driven. Since the formation of the magazine in Spring of 2010, Canyon Voices has expanded into an actual class offered through ASU's School of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies, a division of New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. Students build a new journal each semester. |
About Trivia: Voices of Feminism
TRIVIA, deriving from “tri-vium” (crossroads), was one of the names of the Triple Goddess. Recognizing that what is of primary importance in women’s lives tends to be relegated to the margins of patriarchal history and thought, dismissed as “trivial,” TRIVIA: Voices of Feminism is a place at the crossroads where women’s ideas and experiences can assume their original power and significance. We embrace women’s feminist voices as expressed through stories, essays, poems, visual art, and other creative forms. TRIVIA recognizes and encourages an expansive definition of feminism as an evolving, dynamic, life-affirming praxis with a rich history. We see feminism in all its manifestations, waves, and expressions--as creative explorations of the radical. |
